Learning the Fundamentals
If you are looking to start in CrossFit we offer a way to get started and have a good understanding of the basics, so that you are able to comfortably integrate into the regular CrossFit classes.
This entails a one hour class, twice a week, for three weeks with either Jon or Kerry to understand the fundamentals before mixing in on a regular class.
This class is offered at 6am Tuesdays and Thursdays and at 6pm Monday through Thursday. The one month on-ramp package has a base price and is set up to not miss any of the appointed days. The only way to make up a class, if there is no way to join in on the earlier or later class for that day, is to set an appointment for one on one with either Jon or myself for an hourly fee.
If you are a seasoned CrossFitter and do not feel it is necessary to complete the on-ramp class. You will be given the option to test out with one of the trainers on your competency of the fundamentals.
On Ramp Classes
When starting CrossFit classes you will be required to attend at least eight sessions of on-ramp classes.
These classes are designed to help each athlete become accustomed to CrossFit movements and measures. On-ramp classes are spaced throughout the day and week in order to fit everyone’s schedule. (For example we actually are able to run on-ramp classes congruently with our 6 A.M. class.) Individuals may remain in the on-ramp classes as long as they feel necessary before integrating with the regular CrossFit classes.
For those who would rather not start nor graduate to the group class setting we offer personal training.
Is Personal Training a better fit for you?
For many people, our CrossFit group classes will satisfy their need for superior fitness levels, yet the group classes are not the ideal solution to every person and situation. For some, heading straight into the CrossFit group classes may seem overwhelming.
We use a variety of movements that can be unfamiliar and awkward at first, and personal instruction is the best way to acquaint yourself with a large staple of effective exercises and ensure that you are performing them correctly.
If you are just getting back into an exercise program, maybe entirely new to exercise, or feel that you have special needs which require personal attention, we can provide the instruction you need. In this capacity we have worked with the overweight, the recently sedentary, and those completely unfamiliar with proper exercise mechanics.
This is the “Personal Training” most are familiar with, using basic CrossFit principles to achieve your goals of weight loss, fitness, and health.
